MUST HAVE N°2: the changing table cover

So please roll out the red carpet and welcome under a thunderous applause the "Must Have N°2": the wonderful, comfortable, beautiful and above all the washable changing table cover! She is definitely one of the chosen ones in my heart and I assure you that I will not exaggerate (never!). Let me explain in 3 points why this cover must be absolutely in our newborns' trousseau.

It is COMFORTABLE

Because the changing table can be considered as the "annex" of the cradle. It is indeed the place where we prepare and condition our "little one" to fall asleep, or, conversely, to face life. It is also an airlock where you come to recover like a boxer at the edge of the ring: you come to refresh your face, you wipe the sores, you put a dry body back on. Here too there is a certain recurrence which makes the notion of comfort seem essential to me. For sensitive skin, it is better to feel like in a delicate nest than a fakir board. And as our baby does high level sports tricks there, so it is as soft as a pole vault landing mat.

It is INDISPENSABLE

Because my first days as a "mother-novice" undermined my talents as a prestidigitator and I was able to say "goodbye" to a large part of my pretty towels. Indeed, during the first few days, with my uncertain gestures, there were quite a few failures in diaper changes; turning the changing table into a real crime scene. My daughter's little foot comes to rest on the open layer and rest elsewhere, brushing against my blouse as she passes. This famous layer which, at the same time, is winding up at an angle while touching my elbow. As I lift my daughter's legs to look deep behind her back for what should have been at the bottom of her diaper....In short, a battlefield! It seems that little boys are also not bad at being "baptizers of everything that is on their way". Taking advantage of the few seconds without a diaper to relieve yourself joyfully (it seems premeditated!). By dint of everything, this changing table cover seems essential to me to manage these uncontrolled spills and guarantee impeccable hygiene*. It is very easy to remove and wash.

She is BEAUTIFUL

Whether the changing table is in the bathroom or in the bedroom, the cover contributes to the beautification. That's right, yes! Why not use the changing mat as a decorative object? As it occupies an important place, giving it a decorative function does not seem to me to be completely meaningless. Moreover, this notion of harmony of decoration is my fight. Whether it is a child's room, and a simple piece of furniture for everyday use, the sense of beauty must not be neglected. The latter contributes to our balance and well-being, that is my conviction.
